In collaboration with Calaf Constructora, we have begun work on the new Únicas SJD monographic center, a pioneering project dedicated to the care and research of pediatric rare diseases. This center, driven by the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu de Barcelona, exemplifies medical innovation and social commitment, two core values in our development strategy.
What is the Únicas SJD Center?
The Únicas SJD center goes beyond the usual hospital infrastructure. Its goal is to create a global reference space for the research and treatment of rare diseases. These diseases affect millions of people worldwide, but due to their uncommon nature, they often do not receive adequate attention. This center aims to change that reality.
Estimated completion date: late 2025
Once construction is complete, the Únicas SJD center will become one of the largest campuses in the world dedicated to rare diseases. This new building will be equipped with advanced technologies to facilitate research and the development of innovative treatments for children suffering from these conditions.
