New reference center to advance care and research for pediatric rare diseases

Construction of the new monographic center at the Sant Joan de Déu biomedical campus, bringing together outpatient clinics, laboratories, research areas, and support services in one space.

The project will strengthen the center’s diagnostic and research capacity and contribute to consolidating a reference environment dedicated to the study, treatment, and innovation in the field of rare diseases.

The building features over 12,000 m² distributed across several floors dedicated to healthcare activities, biomedical research, and specialized technical services. It has been designed to foster integration between clinical and research teams, facilitating more coordinated care and greater transfer of scientific knowledge to clinical practice.

Once operational, Únicas SJD will become one of the three largest facilities in the world dedicated to the research and treatment of pediatric rare diseases.
